SEMINAR @ KK (28-31/10/08)

Went to KK to attend a seminar, Managing Risk on Tax Audit & Investigation. Yea, sounds so sophisticated huh. The seminar was in Shangri-La's Tanjung Aru Resort (STAR). Guess where I stayed, Courtyard Hotel @ 1Borneo. It's 30 mins away by car. Yeah I know it's a bit too far, and why not staying in STAR instead? Well, STAR is a 5 star hotel. So it's expensive and no other place i can go to nearby, although there's this food stall about 15 mins walk away, which I think I won't wanna walk that far. Since my company is paying for my trip, no harm staying in 1Borneo Hypermall. It's sort of like Midvalley in KL, and I'm staying at a hotel attach to the mall.

Long time didn't travel in MAS, coz it's expensive!! More expensive than travelling to KL via Air Asia!


When I arrive @ the hotel, the room is not ready. So I walked around in this new Hypermall ad have lunch. I went to Kenny Roger's for roasted chicken. Been a while since I had those.

Nice and clean. I was about 1.30pm. But not much people eating there. Only when I eating my food halfway then there's a big group bout 10ppl entered the restaurant. Weird, so late for lunch?

Brought out my laptop to surf a bit since I'm killing time to wait for the hotel to make my room. It's the 1st time that I surf in a restaurant with my laptop, wat a good feeling, LOL!

My dessert, the famous muffins!! The restaurant is also well know for their muffins, very nice.


Cappuccino shake, tasted not bad, a bit pricey though, RM12!!

It has a free LAN Internet connection for me to go online. Cool......


After some rests and walking around, head off to The Manhattan Fish Market restaurant for dinner. I never been there before, although in KL there are some of those chains around. So, why not give a try?

Seafood chowder. Not that nice, but it's ok. Don't have clam chowder for that day.


My fish and chips. Pollock fish if i'm not mistaken. The food was nice, I like it. But the food doesn't come cheap.

Wat's in the bag?

Wah! A Camera!! Yeah, I bought a brand new digi camera from SengQ. I've been wanting to own a camera and been surfing around to see what brand or model are good at producing good pictures. Panasonic Lumix have had quite a good reviews. Finally I am able to blog with good pictures. My handphone camera doesn't give a good and clear pics, especially macro view, so this camera can do all good thing! Wohooo!!

Other food I had at the mall, I think it was the 2nd nite. Penang Kuey Teow. Quite nice, but not the best la.

Another view. Very clear. Of course when crop it out, will not be as good as DSLR cameras, I admit that. But I won't wanna own DSLR camera as they are bulky and not convenient for me to carry around whenever I want. Those are for special occasion. MY compact camera will be perfect to carry around and take some candid or casual pics as I walk around easily.

3rd nite went to Archdeacon John Yeo's place to join them for dinner. Caressa and her uncle and granma was there in KK for short holiday.

Cadbury ice-cream with fresh strawberries. I really had a good time fellowship with them. Archdeacon left before dinner for a meeting, so din get to talk much, but all is good, AMEN!
